A Baltimore man gave a life-changing gift to the daughter of a stranger he met at the park.

A very generous Baltimore man turned a trip to the park into an opportunity to help a young girl going through chemotherapy.
Dennis Hunter took his sons to a neighborhood park to play and started talking with a woman sitting nearby. She complimented him on his long dreads and asked how long he’d been growing them. “Almost eight years,” he told her.
She then asked if she could touch them. It might seem like an odd request from a complete stranger, but Hunter said “sure.”
As she admired his long hair, she began to tell Hunter about her daughter, who also had dreads until chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out. She asked Hunter if he had ever considered cutting his dreads. He said he hadn’t thought about it, so she asked him to call her if he ever decided to.
She said his dreads would make an amazing wig for someone who had lost their hair — like her daughter. He agreed, she gave him her number, and he left the park to go home.
All day, he thought about their conversation and about the young girl who had no hair. By the next evening, he had made his decision: He was going to surprise the woman and donate his dreads. “I like my dreads, but I’m sure she will love them.”
As word spread about his generous act, Hunter posted on his Facebook page that he was grateful for the positive attention “especially in the city of Baltimore, where the media made many black men here look like thugs, looters, and gang bangers.”
His response to all the attention? “I never knew a simple personal deed I made for one person can change so many people.”
